KBMA will be conducting a Blueprint Reading & Material Take-Off Workshop. The workshop is returning to Kentucky by popular demand. This course has sold out in every surrounding state. 

Topics covered:

  1. Blueprint Reading
  2. Scale Usage
  3. Estimating Formulas
  4. Material Applications 
  5. Wall Framing
  6. Siding & Exterior Trim
  7. Common, Hip, Valley & Jack Rafters
  8. Floor Layout 
  • Attendees will learn basic blueprint reading by identifying lines, symbols and details while developing an understanding of elevations, floor plans, framing and sectional views. 
  • Students will be introduced to various residential construction methods and estimating formulas while working on a basic single level home with a trussed roof.

About this Workshop

  • Instructor: Casey Voorhees, will provide 2 full days of instruction and discussion of residential construction methods, blueprint reading and material take-off. Casey has an extensive background in building materials and has been conducting industry workshops for over 25 years
  • Workshop Times: Classes held from 8:00am to 5:00pm each day
  • Course Requirements: Basic industry experience is a prerequisite for this course.
  • Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch and afternoon Breaks will be provided each day.
  • Not Included: Your hotel room expense, however, KBMA special room rate of $221 per night. HOTEL REGISTRATION INFORMATION COMING SOON! Attendees are required to bring a calculator and pencils.
  • Cancellation Policy:  Workshop cancellations are subject to a $100 Cancellation Fee. No refunds for cancellations received after September 1. You may send a substitute attendee.
  • Attendees are required to bring a calculator and pencils.
  • Fees include breakfast, lunch & snacks daily; course manual, blueprints, architectural and joist/truss layout scale. 
  • KBMA Members:  $600 per attendee              
  • Non-Members:     $750 per attendee
